Craze for Govt. job? IITian joins Indian Railway as trackman

Dhanbad: A youth who completed B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT-Bombay joined Indian Railway as a trackman. The youth is identified as Shrawan Kumar, a resident of Bihar State.

According to the report published in Hindustan Times, he joined group D job in the Indian Railways in Dhanbad Railway Division.

Reason for joining Group D job

Citing the reason for his decision to join as a trackman, the youth said that ‘job security’ is his main focus. He further said that many of his friends are working in the private sector, however, he was not interested in working in a private company.

Currently, he is posted at Chandrapura under Public Works Inspector (PWI), Telo. His responsibility is to maintain the track between Chandrapura and Telo section.

It may be mentioned that in 2010, he joined IIT-Bombay in an integrated dual degree course
