Dak Sewa Awards ceremony held at Dak Sadan

Hyderabad: The Department of Post today presented the Dak Sewa Awards under various categories to outstanding performers at a function held at Dak Sadan.

Nine out of the 8000 who applied for the awards were selected and presented with the awards for the years 2018 and 2019 under various categories.

The awardees included N Amarendar GDS Branch Postmaster Vendikole BO Sangareddy Dn. K. Umakanth Postal Assistant Hyderabad City Division , K. Hanumandlu GDS Packer JNTU Kukatpalli SO Secunderabad division, B.VN. Sekhar Postal Assistant Khammam Divison, BsUBHASH Public Relation Inspector Hyderabad Secunderabad  P. Raghuram Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices (inv) o/o PMG  Hyderabad region.j Pandari Superintendent of Post offices Peddapalli division R. Nagesh Wardhan SA Hyderabad Sorting divison and  Ms. G. Geetanjali  Multi Tasking Staff Postal Stores Depot Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Brig Chandrashekar former Chief Postmaster General Telangana Circle who was the chief guest lauded the awardees and said that the Postal department becomes more and more important. India post is spreading across India with utility services and with IT modernization and diversification and the Government’s will to see that the Postal department becomes an important activity in day to day work the Department is gaining importance day by day.

Col Sagar Hanuman Singh Post Master General Hyderabad Division in his address as the guest of honour said that the awardees were a good example to emulate . The Postal Department is celebrating its Golden jubilee OF THE World Post Day on October 9 . India has a spread of over 1,55, 531 Post offices

With the ongoing revolution in the field of communications and technological innovations India Post has stood up to the challenge and is a market leader in courier services, Banking Insurance and DBT services in the social sector. Telangana Postal Circle has made a pioneering technological foray at financial inclusion of rural masses through Aadhar enabled disbursement

The Department has digitized 1.55 lakh Post offices including 1.30 lakh brand post offices In Telangana 36 Head offices, 812 Sos and 4972 BOs are digitized through a Core system integrator, Digital Advancement in Rural Post offices for New India (DARPAN) and  Network Integration projects.

India post is operating Post office Passport Seva Kendras and Aadhar enrollment and updation centers for the people in Telangana. India post-Payments Bank is another feather for India Post with paperless and doorstep banking. He said that they are an organization that believes in transparency and efficiency so that the poorest of the poor can avail of these facilities. The postal department is the only department which provides cheapest services like transmission of the newspaper even today at 0.25 paise

He also drew parallels from the money drawn from the Post office is cheaper than money drawn from an ATM and asked people to compare the services. In addition to providing passport services other citizen related services like Aadhar enrolment and update are also being offered he added.

On the occasion, VV Stayarnayan Reddy DPS Headquarters Telangana Circle, S.V. Rao DPS Hyderabad region were among the Directors present on the occasion.

DPS Headquarters S.V. Rao welcomed and TVV Satyanarayana AD (STAFF ) of CO proposed a vote of thanks.
