Dasoju urges CM to help rescue detained Indian students in the USA

Hyderabad: AICC spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan today wrote a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and urged him to rescue the students of the University of Farmington from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh detained in the US by the local government.

In his letter, he urged the Chief Minister said the Telugu students were lured by the University of Farmington to take admission so that they could earn money by working as soon as they joined in their college and that they need not attend classes and engage in off campus practical work. He said that no concrete steps were taken so far even after two months of the unfortunate incident and added that the students were neither produced in the US courts nor were being allowed to post a bond and get released.

He also told the Chief Minister that the students belonged to middle class families, whose parents are teachers, farmers and small business men. The parents of these children had put their lifetime earnings to send their children for quality education and better career. He also urged the Chief Minister to rescue the students by taking immediate steps to stop intimidation and ill-treatment in detention centers and permit them to post bond and help them to get out of detention centers immediately. He also asked the CM to deploy a special team from the State government to visit the US and ensure that they liasion and coordinate with the US federal government to smoother the procedure.
