Delhi: Man detained at Metro station for carrying pistol, bullets

New Delhi: A 58-year-old man was detained at Delhi Metro Station for allegedly carrying a country-made pistol, bullets in his bag, police said.

The man identified as G Ahamad, a resident of Samastipur district in Bihar, was detained at Chandni Chowk metro station at 11:30 am after the X-ray baggage scanner detected the weapon in the bag he was carrying with him.

The man later handed the bag to the local police, News18 reports.

Carrying arms and ammunition in the Delhi Metro is banned by law.
