DEO, CP inspect arrangements made for polls

Hyderabad: DEO & GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, IAS, and City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, today inspected Distribution and Reception Centers in connection with the arrangements made for the forthcoming General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2019 here. Dana Kishore said General Observers have also inspected the arrangements made for conduct of General Elections.
Speaking to mediapersons, Dana Kishore said EVMs were dispatched after first Randomization of EVMs and first phase of training was over and second phase of training will be conducted on March 31, April 1 and 2 for POs and APOs. Keeping in view the problems encountered during conduct of recently held Assembly Elections, to look after arrangements 10 to 12 polling stations were allotted to the Sectoral Officers instead of 15 to 20 previously, he said, adding that training was being given to sectoral officers on how to fill forms and conduct mock poll and other important items to be taken care of during conduct of polling.

Around 18,000 staff were drafted for election duty, and they were informed to apply for postal ballot paper, about 12,000 applications were received and messages are being sent to apply for those whose who have not applied. Distribution of Photo ID cards is in progress and would be completed in a couple of days and after that, distribution on voter slips will be taken up immediately by maintaining register with acknowledgment. He appealed to the voters to bring any one of 11 documents that required to show at the time of voting along with the voter slip, merely presenting voter slip does not qualify for voting.
