“Disabled Voice” launched

Hyderabad: National Disabled Association launched “Disabled Voice” on Wednesday.

National BC Welfare Association leader R Krishnaiah inaugurated it and also released the logo of the association. The association was formed to promote social action to protect the rights of the persons with disabilities. He appreciated the members for launching the association to fight for the welfare of disabled persons all over the country.

The national BC leader criticized the governments for not implementing welfare schemes for disabled persons and political parties were not raising their issues in the Assemblies. He demanded that the State and Central government give 5% reservation for disabled in Parliament and Assemblies as there was no proper representation in voicing their problems. He also stressed the need to increase disabled persons pension to Rs 6,000 and fill all backlog posts of disabled persons immediately.

Disabled Persons Association president Shanmukha Rao said the association was formed for solving their problems. He also demanded that the State and Central governments implement the Disabled Act, 2016 in letter and spirit and allocate budget for welfare of the disabled persons. He also demanded that the State governments establish Universities in all the States for handicapped persons.

Association general secretary P Mangamma, Muralidhar Rao, Rambabu and others also spoke.
