Disturbing image of toddler from Bihar reminds of Syrian child

NEW DELHI: The disturbing image of a three-month-old child from Bihar lying still on a river bed brings to the mind the three- year-old Syrian child Alan Kurdi who drowned in Mediterranean in 2015.

While Alan died as a refugee, the other one is of Arjun who washed ashore in his own country.

The painful image came from Muzaffarpur district where mother Rani Devi and her four children had gone to Bagmati river in Wednesday morning , and were swept away by the gushing water, News18 reported.

While Devi was busy with her work, the toddler tragically swept to his death by fast-moving water.

In order to save her child,  Devi along with other three children-Raja, Jyoti and Arjun jumped into River Bagmati.

Local residents rushed to their rescue, unfortunately only manage to save mother Devi and her daughter Radha.

It’s been really painful to see the image of the lifeless body lying still on the river bed.
