New Delhi: In the wake of the conflict spread due to a trivial issue like parking scooter which turned into a communal clash, an appeal has been issued by Maulana Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Jamia Masjid Delhi and Dr. Mohammed Mufti Mukkaram, Shahi Imam of Masjid Fatehpuri in New Delhi. In their Friday sermons, they appealed to the people to maintain peace.
Both the clerics advised the people not to pay heed to rumours. They said that they had talked to police officials and reiterated their stand in which they had requested the police not to arrest innocent people.
On account of their appeal to police officials, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, Mr. Amulya Patnaik visited the affected area.
