Du-ba-Du program held: Zahid Ali Khan highlights hurdles in marriages

Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily advised the relatives of bridegrooms to take initiative for celebrating marriages in a simple manner by avoiding extravagant expenses. Many a time, it was observed that financial worries and the inability to fulfill the wishes of the mother of the groom pose hindrance in finalizing matrimonial relations.

The competition for hiring the grand marriage halls is also another reason which is coming in the way of performing marriages of poor Muslim girls.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan was addressing 93rd Du-ba-Du Program organized by Siasat’s Millat Fund at Regal Convention Center, Bandlaguda.

He further told that it is the responsibility of the parents to persuade their children to make marriages simpler. Quoting the examples of marriages performed in India and Pakistan, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that instead of making marriages simpler, many hurdles are being created. Giving the details of the marriages performed through Siasat’s Millat Fund, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that so far, 4000 marriage proposals have been finalized. He hoped that by the time 100th Du-ba-Du is conducted, the target of arranging 10000 marriages would be reached.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan appreciated Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin, Proprietor of Regal Convention Center for his cooperation in arranging this program.

Citing the example of the wedding of his brother, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan’s son, he said that the wedding function was celebrated at his residence in which only 40-50 members of his family participated.

He advised the parents to concentrate on the education and training of their children. By investing money on education, prestigious social status could be acquired for their children.

It has been observed that during the present days, more number of girls are getting educated whereas boys are lagging behind. The parents should persuade their sons to get higher education. He also advised the parents to review the status of the Muslims of Hyderabad before and after Police Action.

He lamented that during cordon search and chabutra mission, majority of the accused are the Muslims youths who spend hours together late at night outside their houses. The parents should instruct their children to come back home before Sunset as girls come back home before 7’o clock and start studies. If these practices are adopted, no one can stop educational revolution in the Muslim community.

Proprietor of Regal Convention Center, Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin, Mr. Ilyas Basha and Mr. Shujaat Ali also addressed the gathering.

Seated on the dais were Dr. Anwaruddin, Dr. Ayub Haideri, Mr. Shahid Husain, Dr. Nazim Ali and others.

Mr. Syed Khalid Mohiuddin Asad, coordinator of the program made the arrangements and offered guidance to parents and guardians.
