ED registers case against Pak terror group

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday registered a case against Pakistan-based terror group Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) for its involvement in money laundering activities here through hawala channels.

The directorate had initiated an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to establish the money trail.

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) too had registered an FIR against FIF and arrested three operatives, including a person named Mohammad Salman who was in regular touch with a Dubai-based Pakistani national.

Cash totalling Rs 1.56 crore, Nepali currency of Rs 43,000, 14 mobiles phones, 5 pen drives and other incriminating documents were seized from them. The NIA suspected that these funds were to be utilised for creating unrest in the country.
