Mumbai: Emraan Hashmi’s son, Ayaan Hashmi delivered a speech on World Cancer Day at the Nargis Dutt Foundation event hosted by Priya Dutt.
Ayaan who is a cancer survivor began his speech by saying, “Yesterday was my birthday, surprisingly today is cancer day. I think it is a coincidence”.
Qualities to battle against cancer
Talking about the battle against cancer, he said, “Cancer is horrible, it hurts you in every way, mentally and physically but after I survived cancer, my whole life has changed. I was strong, I was a fearless leader. For (fighting) cancer, you only need to have a few qualities and that I think everyone over here has. You need to be strong, fearless and fighter”.
He ended his speech by saying, “To end my speech, I will only say one sentence ‘Cancer is curable’”.
After the end of the speech, the audience including actress Sonali Bendre stood up to clap for him. Later, the video of the speech went viral on social media.
Many netizens applauded him. One of them wrote, “Adorable, strong and smart kid! Wish you best always”.
Emraan Hashmi’s son declared cancer-free
It may be mentioned that in 2014, Ayaan was diagnosed with first-stage cancer at the age of four. Luckily, last year, he was declared cancer-free.
Emraan had disclosed that Ayaan has become cancer-free.
On Twitter, he had written, “Today, 5 years after his diagnosis Ayaan has been declared cancer free. It has been quite a journey. Thank you for all your prayers and wishes. Love and prayers for all the cancer fighters out there, hope and belief goes a long way. You can WIN this battle !!! #thekissoflife.”
