Faculty development program on computational intelligence at MJ

Hyderabad: The Computer Science and Engineering department, MJCET is organizing a One-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Computational Intelligence: Techniques, Tools and Applications from 6to 11 January 2020 in collaboration with Computer Society of India (CSI) Chapter Hyderabad and XIT Solutions.  

The objective of the workshop is to explore the latest concepts, challenges and future directions in Computational Intelligence which is the current technology paradigm. The FDP also includes Hands-on training of the tools used for both faculty and research scholars. Further many universities have made subjects related to the FDP theme a part of their curriculum.

Renowned resource persons for the FDP include experts from Industry, Academia (IITH, IIITH, UoH, JNTUH and OU), and Research Organizations (IDRBT, CDAC). The participants of the FDP include faculty, research scholars and PG students with 67 outside participants from various colleges affiliated to Osmania University(OU), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU-H), MANUU, Acharya Nagarjuna University(ANU), GITAM to name a few

The one-week FDP commenced with the inaugural function held on 6th January 2020.  Chief Guest, Honorary Secretary, SUES Janab Zafar Javeed Saab, Guest of Honour Dr. Kumar Eswaran, CEO Altech Power and Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd., Chief Guest Prof. S. Bapi Raju, Professor, IIIT-Hyderabad,  Advisor cum Director Dr. Basheer Ahmed,  Head CSE Dr. A.A. Moiz Qyser and Coordinator of the FDP Dr. Syed Shabbeer Ahmad graced the dais at the inaugural.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. A.A. Moiz Qyser gave a brief to the audience about the objective, relevance and scope of the FDP theme “Computational Intelligence: Techniques, Tools and Applications”. Advisor cum Director Dr. Basheer Ahmed talked about the importance of the FDP theme and congratulated the CSE department for conducting the FDP on cutting edge technologies. He also stressed the need for the faculty to upgrade themselves with these technologies and paradigms and make the best used of the FDP.

Secretary SUES Janab Zafar Javeed congratulated the department for always organizing FDPs on latest and cutting edge technologies and stressed the need to be up breast with the technological advances in order to provide pivotal solutions to the society.  

Chief Guest Prof. S. Bapi Raju, Professor, IIIT-Hyderabad while explaining the need for computational intelligence also expressed issues of social concern which come along with AI and intelligence-based technologies affecting the human lives and society.

Guest of Honour Dr. Kumar Eswaran, CEO Altech Power and Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd, while explaining the role of AI, its impact on technology and society also talked about the critical questions one needs to look into with the solutions offered by AI and CI-based technologies.

Lastly the inaugural concluded with vote of thanks, delivered by Dr. Syed Shabbeer Ahmad Co-Coordinator of the FDP.
