Mumbai: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma welcomed baby girl on Monday, January 11 at Mumbai‘s Breach Candy hospital. Ever since the news broke out, ardent fans have been eagerly waiting for the first glimpse of the little angel.
And now, the wait is over as Virat Kohli’s elder brother Vikas Kohli took to Instagram to welcome the new member of the family and shared a picture of her tiny feet wrapped up in a cozy blanket. “Happiness overboard… angel in the house,” he wrote in his caption.
While there is no confirmation if it is a representational image or a sneak peek of Virushka’s first child, the post went viral in no time.
Proud father Virat Kohli, who is over the moon, expressed his happiness on social media platforms while sharing the happy news. In a long note Virat wrote, “We are thrilled to share with you that we’ve been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers, and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”
As the child was conceived during the novel coronavirus quarantine period, she will be called as a coronial baby.
In August 2020, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli had announced that they are expecting the arrival of their first child in January 2021. Taking to their respective social media, the couple had shared a photo in which Anushka could be seen wearing a black polka dot dress while Virat stood behind her. Sharing the photo, they wrote, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.”
