HM remark panned
A remark that is being widely criticized Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said the veterinarian should have called the police instead of her sister as this could have saved her life.
Terming the incident unfortunate, the minister said that if anybody calls police on 100, help would reach them within three minutes.
Clarifying his bizarre remark, Ali said the victim was like his daughter.
“I’m deeply saddened by the mishap. She was like my own daughter. Stringent punishment will be given to culprit. When I met her parents, tears rolled down my eyes as well,” he said.
According to the police, the deceased had called her sister around 9.45 p.m and informed her about the help offered to her.
The investigators suspect that the assailants had punctured her scooter and kidnapped her on the pretext of helping her to repair the flat tyre.
The accused took her to a secluded place near the Tondupally toll gate, raped her in the area between the parked trucks and committed the heinous act.
Her body was later set ablaze at the highway under pass.
The accused later shifted the scooter of the victim and left it on the roadside in Kothur.
The accused were apprehended on the basis of CCTV footage from the surveillance cameras which showed the lorry bearing No. TS 07UA 3335, driven by the prime suspect.
