‘Free Kashmir’ message appears at Times Square

New York: Ahead of UN address by Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, ‘Free Kashmir’ message appeared at Times Square.

According to the report published in The Print, the other messages are “Restore Human Rights” and “Stand with Kashmir”.

It may be mentioned that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan will also address the UN.

The image of the Times Square with Kashmir messages was also shared by the official Twitter account of the Pakistani government.

It may be recalled that tension between two neighbour countries escalated after Pulwama attack followed by airstrikes.

The rift further broadened after Indian Government scrapped Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir State.

Times Square

Times Square was selected to display the messages as thousands of tourists visit the commercial-hub.

It is located at a distance of 5.5 km from the headquarters of the United Nations.

The cost to put an advertisement at Times Square for 30-second is more than $3.8 million.
