General Secretary Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind resigns from his post

New Delhi: General Secretary Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Mahmood resigned from his post. The 2-sentence resignation letter written on official letterhead is making rounds on social media which is signed by Maulana Mahmood Madani. The letter is addressed to President Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind.

Maulana Mahmood Madani was active since his father‘s time. He continued on the post after his father’s death as well. In 2008 after the division of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, instead of becoming president, he appointed Hazrat Maulana Qari Osman as president and he himself served as general secretary.

With the resignation of Maulana Mahmood Madani, speculations are rife that Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind can unite. It must be noted that in 2008, President Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Maulana Syed Arshad Madani and General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani had a clash hence two organisations came into existence.
