GHMC to conduct Blanket Operation in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: GHMC to conduct Blanket Operation to combat vector and water-borne diseases in the city. “Civic body is also going to conduct about 500 health camps in GHMC Limits,” said Municipal Commissioner, Dana Kishore in a review meeting here on Saturday.

The onset of monsoon, the Commissioner directed the health wing officials to come up with an action plan on the rise of dengue and malaria diseases. Also asked them to visit vulnerable areas and to take anti-larva and fogging operations simultaneously.

He stated that the health officials should organize awareness campaigns in schools and basis, that a blanket operation will be held for effective impact in combat and control of diseases.

Commissioner further asked about the availability of medicines and required material at their disposal. Also to take up awareness campaign through TV scrolls, pamphlets, door stickers, and on social media also to involve local Corporators in awareness campaigns programmes.

The health wing heads and officers of Hyderabad, Medchal, Ranga Reddy districts apprised the Commissioner about the number of cases reported of the suspect and confirmed cases of dengue, malaria, swine flu in their areas and their plan of action to control the diseases.

Commissioner said, Identify the vulnerable areas, constitute with full-fledged team comprises Medical Officer, Assistant Entomologist and their job chart for effective implementation of programme. Conduct of Door to door survey on reported fever cases collecting blood samples.

The Commissioner instructed the officials to obtain the reports of dengue and malaria cases on a daily basis from the Government and Private hospitals to monitor the situation and to take preventive steps to control the spread of diseases.
