GHMC to set up Water fountain at Mir Alam Park

Hyderabad: After the Mir Alam  Park, the Old City has now embarked to beautify further with the construction of Water Fountain at Mir Alam Tank Park under Charminar division. It will be an added attraction to the people of Hyderabad who can enjoy the Park and the fountain 

The GHMC has submitted the same to the Standing Committee for approval which is now placed before the Standing Committee.

The Development works at Miralam Tank Park in Charminar zone are under progress. Following the Miralam Park progress, Asaduddin Owaisi had requested the GHMC to construct a special Water Fountain in the Park for its beautification and better attraction to the visitors.

Following the request, the GHMC had agreed on it place the proposal before its Standing Committee. The GHMC had proposed to construct a water fountain with Multimedia Music, Dancing lighting at Mir Alam Park at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.90 crores. The same has now been placed before the Standing Committee for approval and to call for tenders as well as Request for Proposal and Expression of Interest to take up the project.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has drawn plans to develop two major parks in each zone and under this initiative, the Mir Alam Park was launched by Chief Secretary, SK Joshi, here last  March

After Imlibun Park, it is the second largest park in Charminar zone. Developed in an area of six-acres on the Chintalmet side of Mir Alam tank, the park has a host of facilities for visitors, especially children.

Developed at a cost of about Rs 2.51 crore, the park also has open gyms, play area for children, water fountains, mini science park, statues and other facilities.Thus adding to the beauty of Charminar zone

The new lung space in the old city is in the close vicinity of Nehru Zoological Park and Mir Alam tank, and, officials expect good number of tourists to visit the park regularly, apart from local residents.

The park has been tastefully done with lush green lawns, water cascades and colorful wall paintings. Besides the mini science park provides activities on science-based concepts. Other games include chessboard, Pachisi game, Panchatatwa walking track, etc. The Dakhni style of art work, reflecting the designs of the Nizams era, can be seen on the walls. Now with the Musical fountain, it will be an added attraction to tourist to enjoy the fountain as well.
