GHMC sweepers rescue abandoned infant in Koti

Hyderabad: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in Koti on Monday morning. The infant was rescued by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) sanitation workers after she was spotted lying on the roadside of Esamia Bazar in Koti at 6 AM by the municipal workers, who alerted the Sultan Bazaar police immediately. Later she was shifted to the Maternity Hospital of Koti by GHMC workers and police. 

It is suspected by the police that the baby was abandoned by her parents or relatives. The police have taken up the investigation and started examining the surveillance camera footage from the surroundings to identify those seen with the baby last. A case has been registered by the Sultan Bazar police under section 317 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
