Govt releases Rs 6,900 cr for Rythu Bandhu payments

Hyderabad: Telangana State Government today issued orders to release Rs 6,900 crore for implementing Rythu Bandhu scheme. It will be a major boost to the farmers to go in for farming activity as they will now get hiked amount in their bank accounts.
The State government has given administrative sanctions in this regard and the officials were asked to ensure depositing the amounts into the farmers’ accounts. The farmers will now get Rs 5,000 per acre each for Rabi and Kharif crops in two spells against the Rs 8,000 they received earlier. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already announced to release the funds for this during his speech on Telangana formation day. KCR also announced a bounty of Rs 1 lakh towards loan waiver on the same occasion. The KCR government has allotted Rs 12,000 crore to release the funds in two seasons to help the farmers in the State. From rainy season, the hiked amount will be given to the farmers and audit will be done through e-Kuber.
As per the guidelines given by Agriculture principal secretary Partha Sarathi, those with pattadar pass books and ROFR pattas can avail the benefit and others, who does not want it can opt for “Give it up” by filling a form.
