Gurugram: Police in Gurugram on Friday filed a cross FIR against the Muslim family that was allegedly attacked by a mob on Holi in Bhondsi’s Bhoop Singh Nagar.
The case was filed by Rajkumar, an accused in the case. The FIR has been filed under sections 323 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Bhondsi police station.
Rajkumar in his complaint said, “I was going on a bike when a ball hit me. When I objected, I was beaten up by people who were playing there. Some people rescued me. I was admitted in the hospital and when I got to know that I have a case against me, I left the hospital.”
“We have registered a case under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), and 34 (common intention) at Bhondsi police station,” Subhash Boken, PRO of Gurgaon Police, reported The Indian Express.
This counter allegation comes after; a Muslim family lodged a complaint against few alleged miscreants, claiming that they were attacked on the occasion of Holi, in Bhoop Singh Nagar on March 23.

Following the altercation over playing cricket, at least 35-40 people barged into the house of Mohammed Dilshad alias Shamshad with batons, hockey sticks and iron rods while others pelted the family with stones from outside, police said.
The incident drew more attention after a video shot on mobile phone went viral on social media platform purportedly showed a group of men attacking the family’s male members with sticks, even as women plead for them to stop.
An FIR against Kumar and others was filed under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 148 (rioting), 149(every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causes hurt), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint.) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Muslim family to leave city
The family has decided to pack its bags to leave the city due to “immense pressure, fear and threats”.
“We are living under immense fear and trauma since the incident. The families of the alleged youths involved in brutal assault are now putting pressure on us to withdraw the FIR and settle the case, or face consequences,” said Mohammad Akhtar, who was present in the house at the time of attack, told IANS on Friday.
“We had constructed the house some three years ago to live here in a peaceful manner. Now, the situation is such that we are not even sending our kids to school,” said Saveena Begum, another family member.
“The decision to migrate from Gurugram is not as per the wishes of our family. They have not left us with any choice,” Begum said.
