Hardik Pandya apologises for his misogynistic comments after facing backlash

Sydney: The young Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya has apologised after being slammed for his misogynistic and sexist remarks on the popular show ‘Koffee With Karan’, saying he got “carried away by the nature” of the show.

The show recently featured Team India stars KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in which the young Indian lads talked on many topics ranging from how they spend their time off-field, romanticising women and their personal life.

Pandya described an incident when he took his family out for a party and they asked him which women he had a “scene” with, referring to the women Pandya had hooked up with.

The cricketer said “And I actually had to tell them. This one. This one. This one,” pointing out the women he slept with and he further added that how his family were proud of him.

He was slammed for his comments objectifying women when the host questioned him about his personal life, he revealed how his family were cool when it came to discussing his sex life openly.

The 25-year-old all-rounder has provoked a backlash from the netizens following which he took to his Instagram and apologised, his post reads “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way.

“Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect.”
