Nuh : A 40-year-old man was beaten to death allegedly by some people in Ainchwadi village under Punhana police station here, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday following which an FIR has been registered against 12 people at Punhana police station, said police.
The deceased was identified as Mubeen, a resident of Ainchwadi village. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, some people who were allegedly involved in illegal mining were bringing mining stones in a tractor being driven at high speed on Tuesday. When Mubeen asked them to slow down the tractor, an argument broke out between them.
“Soon after this, the group attacked Mubeen with stones, sticks and iron rods and thrashed him to death,” the complainant said.
Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered against the accused under various provisions of the IPC including murder at Punhana police station.
“We handed over the body to the kin after the postmortem and all the accused are absconding. We are conducting raids at suspected places and they will be arrested soon,” said inspector Sandeep Mor, SHO of Punhana police station.
