HC hears Chennamaneni case, Directs Centre to settle issue in three months

Hyderabad: The High Court on Wednesday heard the petition on the issue of controversial citizenship of TRS legislator Chennamaneni Ramesh and directed the MLA and petitioner Srinivas to submit their objections to the Union Home Ministry in three weeks.

At the same time, the High Court also directed the Union Home Ministry to settle the issue within three months. It may be mentioned here that petitioner Srinivas filed a petition in the High Court alleging that Chennamaneni Ramesh has no citizenship of India as he was a citizen of a foreign country.
