HC restricts AIMIM Jan 25 midnight protest meet time by 11pm

Hyderabad: United Muslim Action Committee against CAA & NRC on Friday suffered a setback after Telangana High court laid down certain conditions for holding protest meet on January 25. 

Although AIMIM shifted its venue for celebrating midnight Republic Day celebrations from Historic Charminar to Khilwat grounds, but a local BJP leader from old city T Uma Mahender filed a write petition in Telangana High court, urging not grant permission to rally or public meeting in the vicinity of Historic Charminar. 


HC restricts protest meet time by 11PM

Upon hearing the arguments of petitioner’s counsel and Government pleader, Justice T Vinod Kumar directed the organizers of the protest meet to hold the public meeting from evening 6PM to 11PM in the night at Khilwat grounds. 


The High court further in its ordered the Director General of police Telangana to video graph the whole protest meeting and to initiate criminal proceedings if any violation of the law and order during the protest meet.


Earlier AIMIM Supremo had announced that on January 25, United Muslim Action Committee will celebrate Midnight Republic day celebration near Historic Charminar by unfurling tricolor at 12am which was followed by anti CAA and NRC poetry ( Ehtejaji Mushaira).
