Here’s what Kareena Kapoor Khan says on joining politics

Mumbai: Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan on Monday reacted to the reports claiming that she will contest from Bhopal Parliamentary constituency.

The actress, who is in her late 30s rubbished the claims and put an end to all such rumours by clarifiing that there is no truth it.

Kareena told Pinkvilla that she has hasn’t been approached for it nor does she have an interest in politics.

The Veere Di Wedding starlet said in a statement: “There is no truth to these reports. I have not been approached for this whatsoever. My focus is and only will be movies.”

According to the reports, in a letter written to Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, Corporator Yogendra Singh Chauhan suggested the actor would be the most suitable candidate to defeat the BJP from the Bhopal seat in the upcoming national election.

“If Kareena Kapoor fights from Bhopal, we can hope to snatch the seat long held by the BJP,” the congressman had stated.

Kareena is the wife of actor Saif Ali Khan, who is the son of former Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who had also contested election from Bhopal in 1991 on a Congress ticket but had lost to the BJP.
