Hilarity of mismatches

Hyderabad: ‘The Odd Couple’ by Neil Simon is a classic comedy play about two contrasting personalities sharing a home. New York City-origin Jeff Goldberg adapted it to a Mumbai milieu and the play has been directed by Subrahmanian Namboodiri. The play follows the messy, free-spirited Kabir (played by an energetic and effortless Yashhraj Singh) who invites his best friend, the fastidious neat freak Nikhil (perfectly cast Siddhant Ahuja) to share his apartment, after a sudden divorce. What follows is a comedy of clashing personalities.

The dialogue was quick and very well delivered. Supporting cast included Pri Banerjee and Priyanka Bhatia as two very comical sisters and Jevin Contractor. The audience was in splits at the antics of the young cast and enjoyed the play immensely.
