A youth protesting against CAA, NRC and NPR at Shaheen Bagh says that Hindus should not be in the wrong notion that they will anyhow get citizenship after the CAA and NRC are implemented as the CAA, NRC and NPR will affect only Muslims. He argues that Manusmriti is about ruling Dalits and Adivasis, not Muslims.
Though Muslims are the real targets now, the government’s next target would be Dalits, Adivasis and other Hindus. The protestor observes that the government wants a country which runs on the values of Manusmriti. NRC and CAA have emerged from the same thought process, he claims.
He further states, actually Muslims are a big hurdle between Brahmanism and Shudras. The government wants to first keep aside this hurdle by harassing them through bringing NRC.
It is wrong to believe that CAA will protect all Hindus of the countries because under CAA only those Hindus who have come from the three neighbouring countries, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh can get citizenship.
The protestor asserts that a large number Dalits, Adivasis upper caste Hindus don’t have documents. Even if they are granted citizenship for being Hindus, they will be first declared infiltrators then will be given naturalized citizenship. During the process, they will forfeit their voting rights, right to own property etc. And there is no guarantee that they will get back the rights once they are granted naturalized citizenship.
The Shaheen Bagh protestor says we are fighting for them also so they should also come with us. Policemen who are thrashing the protestors and the top officials who are making statements against the protest should realise that they too will have to stand in queues.
The whole population would be affected. Even those who are in the false illusion that they have documents and nothing will happen to them, will also have to stand in queues and prove their citizenship.
So we are fighting for all of them, says the protestor.
