Hyd police deny permission to Kanhaiya’s anti-CAA/NRC meet

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Sunday denied permission to an anti CAA/ NRC program which was to be attended by former president JNUSU and student leader Kanhaiya Kumar in the city.


The Communist Party of India has planned to hold a public meeting against CAA/NRC for which they applied for police permission with the Deputy Commissioner West Zone office, but the police denied permission and reportedly asked the management of Crystal Garden Function Hall at Mehdipatnam not to make arrangements for the programme.


In the proposed meeting several important personalities including student leader Kanhaiya Kumar, CPI National Secretary K Narayana, Former MP Syed Aziz Pasha, JAC Convenor Mushtaq Malik and News Editor Siasat Mr.Amer Ali Khan were supposed to take part in the meeting. 


“Denial of permission is police harassment, we shall be approaching High Court to seek direction to Hyderbad police,” said former MP Aziz Pasha.“The meeting was proposed at Crystal Garden function hall has been canceled as the DCP (west) zone did not accord permission and asked the function hall management to entertain us. Hence the meeting stands cancelled,” said  E T Narsimha, secretary CPI Hyderabad Council.
