Hyderabad: 1EME centre celebrates 77th EME corps day

Hyderabad: 1EME Center celebrated 77th Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) Corps Day today at Secunderabad. Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, Commandant, MCEME and Senior Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME and Brigadier Sandeep Bhalla, Commandant, 1EME Centre paid homage to martyrs of Corps of EME who laid down their lives to uphold the honour and pride of the country.

The occasion commemorated the soldier craftsman’s solemn pledge to the fallen brethren that the corps will uphold their legacy and bring glory to the country. The ceremony was attended by serving and retired all ranks of the Eagles Fraternity and families.

The Corps of EME also known as “Eagles” finds a special mention in the Armed Forces for providing technical support towards seamless sustenance of equipment and machinery of the Indian Army in addition to their gallant contribution for preserving the sovereignty and integrity of the nation. The occasion also served as an inspiration to the present generation of ‘Eagles’ to continue to work towards upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army and uphold the nation’s pride.

A special Sainik Sammelan was also held at the centre. The Commandant addressed the gathering of over 2000 all Ranks and civilian defence employees of the Centre, EME Records & EME Depot Battalion.

He appreciated the hard work and dedication of all ranks and their contribution towards making the Centre a class training institution of the country.
