Hyderabad City Police holds a one-day workshop on “Road Safety”

Hyderabad: one day Workshop on “ROAD SAFETY AND CONTROL OF ROAD ACCIDENTS IN TELANGANA STATE” was conducted by Addl. DGP (Law & Order), Telangana and Add. Commissioner of Police Traffic, Hyderabad City at conference hall, DGP office premises for all the traffic and L&O officers from Telangana State along with Road Safety experts to improve the road safety in Telangana State.

The programme was started at 10.30 AM with opening remarks of Anil Kumar, IPS, Addl. CP (Traffic), Hyderabad.  In which he urged all the participating officers to make use of the advice of the Road Safety Experts on “ROAD SAFETY AND CONTROL OF ROAD ACCIDENTS IN TELANGANA STATE” by taking various remedial measures.

 The entire one-day workshop was conducted on the topics viz., 1. Road Safety audit,     2. Black spots identification and joint inspections by Engineering teams and other stakeholders, 3. Root cause analysis for road accidents, 4. Implementation of remedial measures and 5. Various case studies on improvement of road safety.

Road Safety Experts S. Pradeep Reddy of Third Rock Consultants Pvt. Limited, Hyderabad, M. Venkat Reddy, E.E, of GHMC explained the participants about the diverse topics of Black Spots & Safety Measures for Road Safety.  Sandeep Shandilya, IPS., Addl. DGP., Railways and Road Safety enlightened about the route cause analysis and taking safety measures to prevent road accidents at Black spot stretches. Anil Kumar, IPS., Addl. CP (Traffic), Hyderabad emphasized on curbing of life endangering violations to prevent road accidents by enforcement and awareness programmes.  

During the workshop, some of the participants gave presentations on various road safety measures that they have taken at black spots in their respective units to prevent road accidents.

 Jitender, IPS., Addl. DGP (L&O), Telangana State attended the closing session of the workshop and instructed all the traffic officers to work with an aim to reduce road accidents by 20% this year-end and put the efforts to make the roads of Telangana State accidents free and enhance the image of Telangana State Police by saving precious lives.  He also motivated the participants “how to co-ordinate with all the stakeholders to reduce the road accidents”. 

 Around 55 Traffic and L&O Police Officers, from the rank of SI to DSP/ACP from the entire state participated.
