Hyderabad: Five policemen, including two sub-inspectors, were attached to City Armed Reserve (CAR) on Monday on administratitive grounds by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner for showing negligence in duty.

Anjani Kumar, police commissioner of Hyderabad, said that the suspended officials, identifed as K Satyanarayana, sub-inspector of Humayun Nagar, B Srinivas, sub-inspector of Banjara Hills, K Ranjit Kumar, police constable of Banjara Hills, B Anjaiah, home guard at Banjara Hills, and Ellisha Kiran, police constable of Panjagutta, showed negligence by not registering a complaint from a man who approached them.

On September 29, the complainant approached the officials who made him roam around by saying that his case did not pertain to their police station’s jurisdiction and made him go round in circles for more than 10 hours, said the police commissioner, adding that his case was finally taken up by the Saifabad police on September 30.

According to sources, the complainant wanted to register a case related to an accident that occured near Banjara function hall in Masab Tank area. “Such an unprofessional conduct by various police officers should not be repeated in the city.

I have directed the West Zone DCP, B Sumathi, to relieve the above officers with instructions to report before the Additional Commissioner of Police, CAR headquarters and report compliance,” he said.
