Hyderabad: It has been 15 days yet another casualty medical officer was attacked on duty by one of the road victim’s relatives on Monday morning in Government aided Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).
According to reports, Dr Anvesh was attacked by the patient’s relative while he was carrying out a CT scan on Nikhil P.
The hospital sources stated the patient’s attendants were agitated and in an inebriated state.
“They were drunk and behaved erratically threatening doctors and nurses. They even threatened the staff saying that they were associates of minister Talasani Yadav. The patient had a head injury and we did a CT scan. They were demanding that the reports be given quickly,” said a senior official.
After the incident, Dr Anvesh left the hospital premises and did not respond to calls made by authorities.
Previously there have been several assaults on doctors at the same hospital.
