HYDERABAD: Special Operations Team officers of Rachakonda commissionerate arrested a gang involved in printing and circulating counterfeit Indian currency notes.
On Tuesday, the gang was busted at Saroornagar and Rs 31.25 lakh fake currency in Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 denomination were seized.
Rajesh who was earlier involved in a fake certificate manufacturing racket now along with the other accused joined in money manufacturing and got a colour printer, scanner, screen printing tools and began printing fake currency after scanning the original notes.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers raided Rajesh’s house at Doctor’s Colony and arrested the accused when they were printing the fake currency. Police seized a HP colour printer, a Canon scanner and mobile phones.
The commissioner stated that “The fake notes do not have the security features of the original currency. People should look out for security features to identify fake currency.”
