Hyderabad: GHMC website hacked by employee

Hyderabad: An outsourced employee working with GHMC was arrested for fraudulently generating Property Tax Identification Numbers (PTIN) allegedly by hacking into the GHMC’s official website.

The employee and his techie brother identified as Jay Chand Velaga and his brother Nagendra Babu were arrested after yesterday by the cyber crime wing of Cyberabad police, TNIE reports.

According to the police, Deputy Commissioner of GHMC Rajendranagar circle had received a complaint a year ago against three persons J Ravi, J Rakesh and J Rajeshwari for submitting fabricated documents by obtaining PTIN fraudulently for the plot located at Premavathipet, Rajendra Nagar.

The arrest was made after the GHMC officials lodged a complaint with cyber crime officials.

The techie Nagendra had generated fake PTIN numbers on a registered number of the plot. They were produced before the court on Friday.
