Hyderabad: Girl gets new heart in 10 minutes, police applauded

Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Traffic Police was applauded after its cops helped ambulance carry heart from Banjara Hills to Nampally.

The police extended its cooperation in clearing the traffic so that the ambulance could carry the heart from Care Hospital Banjara Hills to Care Hospital Nampally in 10 minutes.

As per the report, a 40-year-old woman had expired due to heart attack and her relatives had consented to donate her heart to any needy patient.

On the other hand, a 19-year-old girl of Nizamabad was suffering from heart problem for the past one year. She was admitted in care hospital, Nampally.

The heart of the woman who died in Care Hospital, Banjara Hills was transported to Care Hospital, Nampally.

A team of surgeons consisting of Dr. Nagesh, Dr. Rajashekar and Dr. Usha conducted the heart transplantation for 6 hours. Later, the patient was shifted to ICU and within 12 hours, artificial respiratory system was removed. After three days, the patient was able to walk. She was discharged from the hospital on 24th August.
