Hyderabad: Junior Assistant behind bars for demanding bribe

Hyderabad: A junior assistant in Malakpet was caught red-handed by Anti-corruption sleuths for accepting a bribe of Rs 700 in his office situated in Malakpet yesterday.

The person is identified as Mohammed Azhar who was working as a junior assistant at the sub-registrar office in Azampura in Malakpet.

A complaint was registered against Azhar by Mohammed Farooq Mohiuddin from Charminar, TT reports.

According to officials, Azhar had demanded a bribe for handing over certified copies of property documents from the sub-registrar office to the complainant.

He was arrested on Thursday. A press release here said the Azhar often demanded bribe form applicants.

He was produced before the special court for ACB cases after which he was remanded in judicial custody.
