Hyderabad: The MSJ court of LB Nagar on Wednesday convicted a 30-year-old Charlabavi Ravi with one year of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for sexually assaulting a 16-yer-old girl.
A 16-year-old poor girl residing in Pedda Golkonda village of Shamshabad, the girl use to collect newspapers, plastic items and sell it for eking livelihood, on 8 March 2018, during morning hours while she was collecting plastic along with her sister the accused Ravi caught hold the victim dragged her beside the road and committed the crime.
By listening to the hues of the victim nearby passer came and rescued the girl and caught the accused after which a case was registered against him under section 354 (B)IPC, Sec 7 and 8 of POCSO Act at Shamshabad police station.
During a trial on Wednesday, the court at LB Nagar convicted the accused Ravi for one year of RI for sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl.
