Hyderabad: A man in city limits was thrashed to death by a couple for stealing their mobile phone in Sanathnagar.
The crime came to light on Saturday. According to details, the victim K Veerappa who worked at a construction site along with the Ramulu and Lakshmi was thrashed to death by the couple when Lakshmi who lost her mobile phone a few days ago suspected Veerappa of stealing the phone, Hans reports.
Suspecting him of stealing, the duo took him to a toddy shop where they consumed the brew.
An argument broke out between Veerappa and the couple over the lost phone and in a fit of rage, the couple brutally thrashed him and later dropped him at home.
He was found dead the next morning. The victim’s family members stated he died after being beaten up by the couple.
The Sanathnagar police took the couple into custody and are investigating.
