Hyderabad: These days, the cases of online purchases of used articles at cheaper rates have increased. Some of the cyber cheaters have found a new way of deceiving people. They pose themselves as ex-military men and request the customers to buy used articles at cheaper rates since they are proceeding to other place on transfer.
In this way, they post these requests on quikr or OLX and ask the customers to deposit the amounts in their accounts. They offer to sell the goods at 50-60% discount. As soon as the contact is established, they elicit the details of the customer and disappear after the amount are received. ACP, Cybercrime Police issued an advisory for the benefit of people to be careful and not to indulge in such transactions.
