Hyderabad: The protest by the students of Osmania University entered its Sixth day. The students started a rally to demand the Center to release a notification for National Fellowship of Scheduled Caste (SC) and also to increase the fellowship slots for OBC category.
The rally was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the students who participated in the protest also demanded the immediate removal of the clause that made National Eligibility Test (NET) mandatory to avail the scholarship.
Concerns were raised to reinstate the fellowship of Basic Scientific Research (BSR) which the government discontinued citing irregularities. The protest by ABVP continued despite the administration at the University of Hyderabad assuring the students of resolving their issues.
