Hyderabad: Police alert in Old City after Babri Masjid Verdict

Hyderabad: After the pronouncement of the judgment of Babri Masjid Case, the activists of DJS (Darsgah-e-Jihad vo Shahadat) wanted to register their protest. They also wanted to convene a press conference but police arrested them from their office located at Moghalpura.

Police arrested Mr. Mohammed Abdul Majid, President, Mr. Salahuddin Affan, Secretary and Mr. Mohammed bin Omer yesterday in the afternoon.

The activists of DJS were raising slogan claiming injustice done to the Muslims. Police arrested and shifted them to Kanchanbagh Police Station.

President of the organization, Mr. Abdul Majid told that DJS had continued its struggle for the restoration of Babri Masjid but the judgment pronounced by the Supreme Court is disappointing.

Police released these activists after getting a bond written by them.

Police had become alert in the Old City in the afternoon yesterday and Rapid Action Force was deployed around Charminar area.

Statement of Joint Commissioner of Police

Joint Commissioner of Police (Central Crime Station) Mr. Avinash Mohanty told that the situation in the South Zone of Hyderabad City Police (Old City) is normal and completely peaceful.

Police will take a decision today to deploy more force if need be.

It may be mentioned that a large gathering of the Muslims will assemble at Exhibition Ground today to celebrate Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday today.
