Hyderabad: A prisoner, who was under treatment at the Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda, committed suicide by hanging himself inside the hospital washroom on Sunday morning.
According to SR Nagar police, the deceased, Feroz Khan, 24, was a prisoner from Cherlapally and was admitted in the hospital on August 5 for treatment. Feroz hanged himself with a bed sheet from the exhaust fan in the criminal closed male ward at around 6 am on Sunday.
Hospital authorities informed police who shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital mortuary. Police registered a case under section 174 (Suspicious death) of CrPC and are investigating the case.
