Hyderabad: Pvt hospital staff booked for negligence

Hyderabad: The Panjagutta police have registered a criminal case against the management of Pragna Hospital in Jubilee
Hills here for alleged negligence resulting in the death of a 7-year-old boy on Friday.

According to the police, the boy, M. Vignesh, was suffering from high fever.
He was admitted to the hospital on September 7 around 8:30 pm for treatment. Later, the family was informed that the boy was diagnosed with dengue.

“There, the doctors at the hospital examined my boy and informed that they found dengue positive and they promised me to admit the boy in for a week’s medical treatment and that they will cure it.

However, on September 9, he was shifted
to ICU (Intensive Care Unit), under serious condition; again on the next day, he was
shifted to the ventilator. The management did not provide proper care for my son and he was declared dead by the doctors on September 11 night around 9:30 pm,” said M. Radha, the mother in a complaint to the Panjagutta police.

Following the complaint, the police booked a case under Section 304-Aof the IPC against the management of Pragna Hospital. The boy’s body was shifted for postmortem examination. Investigation is on.
