Hyderabad road works from December 10

Hyderabad: The Comprehensive Road Maintenance Project works to be grounded by the 10th of  December said the Commissioner GHMC Lokesh Kumar.

The Commissioner said that fieldwork is going on to identify the major roads to take up the Comprehensive Road Maintenance works in the City for 709 KM road length.  Simultaneously work is also going on at parallel and link roads to ease the traffic load on the main roads. By removing bottlenecks if necessary through Land acquisition. Proposals to develop at least 10 Km in each Zone.

Since the present period is working season road and Infrastructure works worth Rs.280 Crores were sanctioned.

Regarding the LRS Scheme, GHMC contacting around 28,000 applicants to come and get LRS clearance of their pending files at the earliest before 31st December 2019. Efforts are being made to contact the LRS applicants by various means through phone, SMS, voice message, etc. further instructed the officials concerned to be available at office between 3 PM to 5 PM to solve the problems in the clearance of files. In earlier drive, around 26,000 LRS applications cleared he added.         

GHMC also identifying the open places to construct public toilets and also to take up tree plantation under the greenery development program and also restoration of parks which were neglected. Repairs to central medians and footpaths.

About 35 Bus Bay to be constructed, proposals to construct a Skyway in each Zone and also Foot over Bridge after getting necessary approvals.

Filling of potholes are in progress, works are going on with specialized material for stretches 6 to 7 meters of road. The latest machines are used for stretches ranging from 130 to 140 meters of Road. Within 2 to 3 months all damaged roads rectified.

GHMC is in the process of identifying open places in each ward to dump garbage and also for C& D waste in order to decentralization Transfer Stations to increasing the frequency of lifting the garbage from the transfer stations in the city.

Recycling of the C&D waste plant is ready to open and would be increased such plants so that 30 to 40 % C&D waste is utilized from recycling. In future proposals are for 100% utilization of C&D for recycling.  Similarly waste to energy plants would be operational by January end, and it is proposed to use the total garbage self-consumption for captive power generation. At present daily GHMC lifting 6,400 metric tons of Garbage.

Around 9000 2BHK houses are ready and by June 50,000 2BHK houses would be ready to be occupied.
