Hyderabad: The Forensic Science Laboratories (FIL) while investigating the rape and murder of veterinary doctor Disha, confirmed the presence of liquor in her body.
“The report confirmed that the liver tissue of the veterinary doctor contained alcohol. Disha parked her scooter near Tondupally toll plaza at 6 pm and got into a cab to go to Gachibowli. After consulting a dermatologist at Olive Hospital in Gachibowli, she got into another cab and returned to the toll plaza at 9.30 pm on November 27. In between, she did not stop anywhere. So, the alcohol in her body was what the four accused had forcibly made her consume,” The Times of India quoted a police official as saying.
Police also received reports confirming that the seminal stains found on the scarf and undergarment of the victim belonged to the four accused — Mohammed Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Ch Chennakesavulu. Similarly, the identity of the victim was also confirmed in a DNA test. Disha’s DNA collected from her sternum bone matched with the DNA samples of her immediate family members, forensic experts confirmed.
Two senior officers investigating the case said that the testimonies by a petrol pump attendant and a tyre mechanic provided crucial leads that helped trace the accused. The attendant said around 12.30 am on Thursday, two men on a red-colored scooty approached him for petrol.
The make of the two-wheeler given by the attendant matched the one owned by the victim, said the first official quoted above.
The tyre mechanic who worked near the toll plaza told police that two men on Wednesday night filled the air in a red two-wheeler. The details were identical to the victim’s scooty and description by the attendant.
Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court has directed the police to preserve the bodies of the accused until further notice as the Supreme Court asked all other courts and agencies to halt their investigation.
In another development, Renuka, wife of Chennakeshavulu, one of the rape accused, has demanded the government to provide her a job since she was poor. Renuka is pregnant. She reportedly said that if the government could provide her with a job, she could meet her ends.
