Hyderabad: The ACB arrested a village revenue officer (VRO) working at Abdullapurmet mandal in Rangareddy district from his office on Thursday afternoon. The VRO, K Shankar, was nabbed while accepting a bribe Rs 50,000 out of Rs 70,000 he had demanded from a real estate businessman.
The bribe amount was recovered from the accused’s office, ACB officials said. The ACB has put out a standing notice that in cases of demand of bribe or information of amassing disproportionate assets by any government/public servant, the public is requested to contact toll free number of ACB TS, Hyderabad – 106.
