Hyderabad: A 21-year-old youth sexually assaulted a minor girl. The crime came to limelight after the girl revealed her ordeal before her parents.
As per the details of the case, the victim who is a resident of Jogipet, Sanga Reddy had come to the city to stay at her grandmother’s house. The accused who reside near the house of the victim’s grandmother developed a friendship with the girl.
When the girl returned to Jogipet, the accused met her and allegedly raped her. Police said that the accused had sexually assaulted the girl at least twice.
Police also suspect that the accused might have sexually abused the girl when she was in the city.
On Thursday, Petbasheerabad Police took the youth into custody. He was booked under the POCSO Act. The victim was sent for a medical examination.
