Hyderabad: A court sentenced a youth to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl. It also imposed a fine of Rs. 2000 on him. The girl is the accused’s distant relative.
Giving the details of the case, Additional Public Prosecutor, K. Pratap Reddy informed that the accused had raped the girl for the first time in 2016 when she visited his house to meet his sister.
He committed the crime after making a promise to marry her. Later, on four different occasions, the accused raped the girl.
After committing the crime a number of times, the accused started avoiding the girl and asked her not to visit his house.
In the month of April 2017, the girl’s mother approached the police and lodged a complaint against the accused. Based on the complaint, the accused was arrested.
