IAS officer Inayat Khan adopt daughters of two Pulwama martyrs

NEW DELHI: In a touching gesture, a Muslim lady IAS has set an example by adopting daughters of two Pulwama martyrs killed in ghastly terror attack.

Inayat Khan, currently posted as District Magistrate of Sheikhpura adopted one daughter each of slain CRPF personnel Ratan Kumar Thakur from Bhagalpur and Sanjay Kunar Sinha from Patna who lost their lives in the dastardly attack on CRPF convoy on February 14.

The 31 years old IAS officer will bear the cost of the girls’ education besides “raising funds” to support families of two CRPF personnel.

The 2012 Bihar cadre IAS officer, who hails from Agra district of Uttar Pradesh,said as a good will gesture, she will also donate two days’ salary to the two martyr’s families.

Ms. Inayat said she also ordered the District Magistrate staff to open a bank account to raise funds for the families of the two martyrs.

She said, “I have directed officials to open an account to raise funds for families of two victims (Constables SK Sinha from Patna and RK Thakur from Bhagalpur). Whatever amount will be collected by March 10, we will divide and give it to their families.”

“I want to appeal to the people to contribute as much as you can so that we can stand by their families at a time when they need our support,” she added.

Officers like Inayat Khan, who is working honestly for the development of the society make every Indian Muslim proud.

Nearly 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in a terror attack orchestrated by Pakistan-based and Pakistan backed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed on February 14.

The convoy of 78 buses, in which around 2,500 CRPF personnel were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar, came under attack around 3.15 pm on February 14.
